Pseudo 6-7L Vaal Righteous Fire

Vaal Righteous Fire, Elemental Focus, Burning Damage, Increased AOE/Conc Effect, Arcane Surge, Swift Affliction. (In Helmet)

Arcane Surge gives RF a Duration tag, that enables us to use Swift Affliction. Sounds stupid, but it works. The other option is to get an Elder Helmet that gives you Conc Effect/Burning Damage/30% More Elemental Damage for a pseudo-7 link for your RF. You can then put a 6L Scorching Ray in your chest instead.

4-6L Scorching Ray

Scorching Ray, Burning Damage, Elemental Focus, Efficacy, Controlled Destruction, Swift Affliction

3L Orb of Storms

Orb of Storms, Curse on Hit, Flammability

Cast on hard rares/uniques/bosses for extra damage and to maintain Elemental Overload.

3L Shield Charge

Shield Charge, Faster Attacks, Fortify

4L Aura Setup

[3.8] Cyclone Summoner - Heralds of Agony and Purity, Summon Holy Relic - League starter

  • A summoner that doesn't care about chain
  • Ability to do all map mods

Then this is the build for you!!

Credit for the original build concept goes to sViin, who's build is the inspiration for this one.



This build uses Cyclone to summon and activate powerful minions. With Cyclone, you attack 6.16 times per second. Here's a list of things that happen as a result:

  • Two Holy Relics trigger roughly every .62 seconds
  • You gain and sustain virulence stacks (very easy to sustain 40) summoning the Agony Crawler
  • Summon and sustain Sentinels of Purity (against uniques, but you can also get them from your poison kils sometimes)
  • Gain 150 life and 14 mana on hit


The best way to get an idea for the build is to watch the videos above.

  • Simply pop your non-life flasks and Cyclone through packs - your minions will do the rest!
  • You can very easily face-tank high level bosses with this build (eg. I did a Minotaur at level 79 with under 5k hp facetanking).
  • The only somewhat annoying map mod for the build is physical reflect as your relics will one-shot themselves. To run this mod, just summon one relic at a time before entering each new pack. The relic and your agony crawler will mop up just fine.

[3.8] PoE Freezing Pulse Hierophant Easy Build

  • + NO gear requirements (except 2 threshold jewels), so cheap and SSF viable
  • + Transitions nicely from levelling to mapping without any problems and big investments
  • + Easy to cap resists
  • + Easy to reach 7k+8k EHP with 40% MoM
  • + Able to clear maps up to T15 comfortly
  • + Very safe because we freeze all minions except bosses instantly
  • + Can go Magic Find
  • + Can run all map mods (I would reroll Ele+Reflect since your totems 1 or 2+shot themselves, but clearing the map is possible)
  • + Can reach 1.5 million Shaper DPS (300k DPS per totem) + this is specific damage gear, 80+100k DPS is enough for mapping
  • + Possible to kill guardians and shaper with some investments
  • - No leech
  • - Totems


Why not Frostbolt?

  • higher base crit
  • faster projectiles, so faster freezing and clearing

You can still try frostbolt. It's essentially the same skill tree, so just swap the gems and threshold jewels. (and you don't need projectile speed, so replace faster proj)

Gameplay style

You run around (and flame dash) and place totems preemptively. You don't wanna jump directly into a large pack of mobs before freezing them. When we need more DPS we can cast Frostbomb and Projectile Weakness for a huge damage increase.


Mandatory Links

Get those as soon as you start mapping. Don't complain about your damage if you don't use a Curse, Frost Bomb and Arcane Surge.

Main skill: Spell Totem - Freezing Pulse - Faster Casting - Controlled Destruction - Hypothermia - Cold Penetration

- Before you pickup a +1 Totem Shield, it might be worth to run Multiple Totems Support.

- If you want your projectiles to travel farther, you can use Faster Projectiles, it also means the damage doesn't fall off that fast.

- If you want reliable crits and your double totems can one shot most mobs, you might wanna run Increased Critical Strikes instead of Controlled Destruction. It's overall less damage though.


Flame Dash + Faster Casting + Arcane Surge (+ Portal)

(pay attention that your Arcane Surge is low level so that it procs with one cast, for this combination it's level 7)

Frostbomb + Phase Run + Increased Duration

(pay attention that your Arcane Surge is low level so that it procs with one cast, for this combination it's level 4)

Cast When Damage Taken + Immortal Call + Enfeeble + (Increased Duration)

(Cast When Damage Taken should be lvl1, Immortal Call lvl3, Enfeeble lvl5)

Projectile Weakness + Vaal Haste / Vaal Grace + Increased Duration

(We need 155 Dex for level 20 on Projectile Weakness which is hard to get for us. But it's totally fine to leave the gem at a lower level, since we only lose a little bit of DPS against bosses)

Shield Charge Faster Attacks + Fortify

(if you use dagger/sceptre)

Alternatively use Vigilant Strike (with jewel) - this should be your endgame setup:
